“Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth To Power,” will have another preview screening on Thursday, August 12 at 7 pm on an outdoor screen at the Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive, which is at 2155 Center St., at the corner of Oxford St., right across the main UC campus and just a block from the Downtown Berkeley BART.
After the very successful leafleting of last week’s preview at the Grand Lake Theater, organized by an ad hoc committee of supporters of Palestine and joined by ISM supporters and members, we’ll be out there again for this showing. If you can help, please get there by 6:30 or so. And if you have or can make any appropriate signs, please bring those too.
In response to her increasingly poor record on Palestine (she sponsored a bill, just passed by the House, that gives the Israelis $3.3 billion+ in 2022), a small ad hoc group put together a leaflet – see the PDF below – that aims to educate the 600 ticket holders about her record on this issue and to encourage them to press her to speak and act in support of justice for the Palestinians. It’s respectful of her good works but firm in calling her out on this issue.
Please join us at 6:30 pm on Thursday and bring copies of these leaflets:
